Oakhurst

A small town south of the gate to famous Yosemite National Park - with virtually nothing to do, unless you are a senior citizen attending club meetings at the local Raleys. Teenagers often resort to sex and drugs. The smarter ones have no choice but to drown themselves in school athletics to avoid the harsh reality living there.

STDs, teen pregnancy, tweakers, rednecks ,homeless and old people are prevalent.

It is a good retirement town complete with bargain marts on every corner and small town festivals.

Fair weather is unheard of. Only expect the extremes.

The natural beauty of the mountain area is overshadowed by the tacky 80's and old western themed buildings.
"I hate Oakhurst. There's nothing to do here."

"I wish this weather would last more than a day, it's only hot or freezing in Oakhurst."

"There's another tweaker. Typical of Oakhurst."

Oakhurst

Locals (local teens that is) refer to Oakhurst as - Oakieville or Oakiehurst. Oakhurst is home to the Pizza Factory. It is micro in size. And has nothing to do. But, I'm damn proud to be from Oakhurst. A lot of people really don't appreciate the place until they move. If you're visiting Yosemite, Ca and have a hotel room in Oakhurst, walk around and listen to the grumpy teenagers say, "I hate Oakieville." I'd like to see what they say if they moved to Raymond, or some small town like that in the surrounding area. GEESH! Anyways.. Oakhurst is just below the famous Yosemite National Park and it is full of tourists all the time. Most of the people that live in Oakhurst are either senior citizens or stoned teens. It is beautiful, lush and green. It gets pretty hot in the summer, and extremely cold in the winter. A short drive from good skiing. ANd really has a lot more going for it than the people that live there think. It was listed as the fastest growing town in California a few years ago. And it is home to one of the best high schools in the state. The athletic department Pwns all the other schools in the state. And it's got some bright kids, though they're dumb at the same time.
Snotty teen: "Oakhurst is bank, foo. I wish I was back in Compton.."

Pimptastic Gangster: "Bitch please! Be happy to live in Oakhurst, hoe"

Oakhurst is off the heezy.

Back when I lived in upstate new york

A meaningless, unimpressive, self-serving introduction. An indicator that the story about to be shared will be pointless and dumb.
Back when I lived in upstate new york, I also had to park on the street - on two occasions, we got enough snow, mixed with just the right plowing, that my car was lifted off the ground from so much snow being jammed underneath it.

Sister: This meeting was to discuss the rough draft of my essay, where we discussed the subsidiary questions I added in my rough draft. We also discussed the relationship between my main title and the real-life situations I chose to use in my essay. We discussed the structure of my essay as well, specifically the Math AOK section and how it relates to the contradiction of the title. This second meeting was particularly helpful in discussing the implications of my essay claims and how to apply the title across various areas of knowledge. There were many sections of the essay that could have been cut down in wordiness and the ways of knowing required further and more in-depth analysis.
