To lay claim to having analysed a given situation but it is quite clear by the presentation that no such analysis has taken place.
Jim says it is hatred of his happiness that has people fleeing his channel according to his own analysis but it is clear to everyone else that what he actually performed was more like nonalysis, seeing as the channel was haemorrhaging subscribers long before the transition took place.
