Term to define the cream of the crop of any group of people, good or bad. As much as I hate to admit it, the term was originally coined by the 1927 Yankees, who were unquestionably the best baseball team ever, but you can use it in other ways, for instance, the WWE roster in early 2000 was the murderers row of wrestling talent. On the other hand, the 19 9/11 hijackers were a murderers row of terrorists that are burning in hell.

A term initially used to describe the devastatingly effective batting line up of the 1927 New York Yankees; now the phrase is commonly used more broadly to refer to any particularly successful and/or powerful group of people.

At the charity auction, Robert De Niro, Meryl Streep, Anthony Hopkins, and Jack Nicholson were all sitting at the same table. It was a veritable murderers' row of incredible actors.
