The long-lost character who appeared frequently in the early days of Garfield. Nobody knows why he vanished out of nowhere.
Lyman's disappearance may have been because:
1. He joined the Peace Corps
2. He got a disease contagious to even animals so he had to move out alone
3. He went to live to an apartment which he didn't know didn't allow dogs, so he just gifted his dog to Jon
4. He left the strip to pursue his dream of Olympic figure-skating gold
5. He joined the CIA and works undercover in Russian comics
6. He had lunch with Jimmy Hoffa and then...
7. He took the role of Elaine in ''Taxi''
8. He hit on Blondie and Cathy; editors explained; Davis fired him
9. He was disfigured in drawing accident
10. He moved to San Francisco
11. He opted for a career in hotel/motel management
12. He ballooned to 270 pounds; wouldn't fit in cartoon panels
13. Don't look in Jon's basement

Located In Southern Maine. 40 minutes from Kittery and 30 minutes from Portland. Somewhat Classy, Somewhat Trashy. Mostly residential. There are some beautiful lakes there. Quite a lovely place to live if you want to be close to the ocean and mountains. Local Townie is Benji. Great desitnation for a pond party!!
