After Generation X, there came Generation Next, Now we have upon us, GENERATION TEXT.
Todays up and comming youth, and its current focus on their cell phones' latest abilities. The most popular is the advent and application of Text Messaging. This generation appears to prefer texting over talking, or even personally interacting with their friends. This mindset has heavy influence on todays youth.

Generation Text is here and everwhere you look you see people typing away on their tiny keypads. At work, school, the park, driving(?!), etc. It is their boon of everyday life. Without their cell phone, people cant seem to function right, until it gets replaced. Which usally happens rather promplty after losing or breaking theirs.

The following generation, referred to as Generation Z, Generation I3334, Digital Natives, iGen, Gen. Techcitation needed the internet generation35 and various other names, was born between 1999 and 2009 (decade).363738 I call this generation of people born between 1999 and 2009 (decade).GENERATION TEXT™.

Originally, text messaging was invented for the deaf and blind. Therefore its use for the general public did not become popular until 2000. In some way then Graffiti influenced the growth of a text messaging culture. Its unique approach to socially engaging the viewer to read an abbreviated message, its perhaps the most important way Graffiti influenced text culture.
