Cure for autism

There is no cure for autism, and there will most likely never be one to ever exist. Most autistic people would decline one anyhow given the choice, since autism typically plays a big part in who they are.

Cures that won't work:

- Diets. Will not affect the brain in any way related to autism.

- ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) Therapy. ABA is supposed to prevent meltdowns, often mistaken for temper tantrums by less educated parents. A temper tantrum is someone trying to manipulate people to get something, whereas a meltdown is the brain being overloaded with information to process about its surroundings (If it's too loud, too bright, etc.).
ABA makes the autistic person conform to neurotypical standards, though they are not suited for it. All a meltdown needs in order to be settled is usually a dark, quiet room with support where needed. Instead of suggesting catering to these needs, ABA 'therapists' will punish autistic people for having meltdowns, despite meltdowns being out of their control. ABA therapists are usually in it for the money.

(Side note about vaccines: It's a common misconception made up by a man called Andrew Wakefield, who claimed in a 1998 article that the MMR vaccine could give someone autism by affecting the intestines, with skewed and fabricated evidence. He lost his medical license in 2010, and all of the original authors have taken their names off of the article since.)
The only true "cure for autism" that will work is listening to autistic voices. There is a lot of misunderstanding about the autistic community, and the best way to clear it up is by learning about autism first. The reason it hasn't been cleared up is because some people live in ignorance and don't want to listen.
Autistic people are the only firsthand experts on autism. A neurotypical person will never truly understand/experience what it is like, no matter how qualified they are in any biology. Let us speak first, then you can work on a cure.
(Which still won't happen).

church hurt

church hurt is where you experience a degree of distance, pain, or judgement from your church community. Essentially, you are just unable to “find your place”. This is prevalent in the Christian community, but can be extended to other religions.
Now that I am an adult I am beginning to heal from the church hurt that was inflicted on me as a child.

Stealthie

when you're holding up your phone and making faces at it, as though you are taking a selfie, but you're really taking a picture of the person across from you or the wall or anything else that seems interesting but you don't want to be caught dead taking a picture of.

This action is often made more convincing by wiggling the eyebrows or opening the mouth, to pretend you're trying to get a Snapchat filter to work.
FRIEND A: "Did you just take a stealthie of me?"

FRIEND B (turning phone around): "no I was just using snapchat's new filter, see?"
