n. (also spelt "bonkie, bonkey"), a black person who attempts to behave (or assume the airs of) a quintessential, white person. The bonky is oftentimes seen: wearing wire-framed spectacles and a flannel shirt tucked neatly into a pair of khaki trousers, assuming a nasally and overworked
white, suburban accent; smiling unhesitatingly; and boasting a European
name (i.e. John
D.
Bailey). In popular culture, Carlton Banks of the sitcom 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' would be an archetypal bonky.
