YAS

An acronym for Yet Another Specification. Used by irritated programmers who have to deal with yet another way of defining the same data. Usually making the entire process more complicated than it has to be. Can be used as a retort to a newbie coder who is trying to impress or justify his hiring by throwing out a lot of jargon like SOAP and WSDL and XSDL. Typically a more experienced program will dis the youngster by pointing out that YAS is not necessary here. Thus completely mystifying and causing the young coder to be ashamed his knowledge of geek speak is lacking.
New coder: "I would like to start integrating your XML feeder into our system. I suppose it is a Web Service (soap) based. Please let me know the url for WSDL."

Experienced coder: "There is no need for YAS. This is not a complicated system or task. I'll give you the simple XML feed. It is a very straight forward project."
