torus
In three-dimensional space, a torus is a doughnut shape, which already has very special peculiarities such as allowing an object to fit through the torus’s center provided it is small enough. The more fascinating properties begin to emerge when you lay it out two-dimensionally to resemble a square, and after that it will allow any two-dimensional object to exit out of any of the two-dimensional torus’s sides and appear out of the other. You have the torus to thank for a doughnut’s shape.
C: Hey P, want to go get some doughnuts with me?
P: Don’t you mean “Sugar-coated toruses”?
C: Why do you have to over complicate these simple terms so much? You didn’t even get the plural of “torus” right!
P: Dang, I even spent all of the other day researching facts about them!
C: Well gee, it sounds like you need some new hobbies!
