Uncle Larry pulled on a Thunderbird bottle all day long. Some heartless juvenile delinquents pointed at him and shouted “stewbum.” Larry became a hopeless derelict.

The stewbum paid the hotel desk clerk for my room number. Recalled in BBC documentary on Pan Am, "Come Fly With Me." Circa 1960s-1970s.
