Shot Clock 

A dating concept referring to the unofficial amount of time an individual (typically a man) has to admit any feelings possessed for someone (a female) he is romantically or sexually interested in. Once the "shot clock" runs out, the person typically loses interest and the opportunity to get with them is lost altogether.

The shot clock is ticking, he's about to miss out.

Why is he waiting so long to shoot his shot? His clock is about to run out, I'm tired of waiting.
