Sertraline is an antidepressant in to the SSRI family. Commonly known by the brand
name "Zoloft", it is prescribed for
OCD, depression,
anxiety, PTSD, and is sometimes used to treat other mental disorders, even without a prescription. It works by increasing serotonin levels, which is the body's naturally produced hormone to induce
happiness and excitement. It is also abused, no matter whether the abuser has been prescribed it or not. This would require drug sharing and/or stealing, as sertraline can only be obtained
via prescription.
The effects vary, with some users finding it positive, and some finding the experience unbearable. While not everyone will experience each and every side effect, common ones include:
