Canon means official, therefore semi-canon means semi-official.

Person 1: Is the couple in that series you're watching canon?

Person 2: Sadly no, it's still semi-canon.

- Does your couple canon?
- No, it's semi-canon.
- Then it will be noncanon. Semi-canon doesn't have meaning.
