Is a tender Kazakh name, carrying a deep meaning: “the longing of two souls separated by time and distance.” And this is not just a simple yearning for someone you know or have been close to!

Sagynysh is like the moon in the night sky: it shines during separation, promising the reunion of our hearts, and awakens in the soul a melody of love that lasts forever. It is like a quiet whisper of the wind across the steppe, filled with warmth and love, with the sweet anticipation of a meeting in which each letter carries the gentle sadness of waiting for happiness!

My dear Sagynysh,

You are the tenderness of the sky above the mountains,

My love is an endless river

That clings to you with every breath.

In your eyes I find my true home,

In your smile I see light for the darkest days.

I will hold you like a flower in my palms,

And my heart will sing from happiness with you.

Sagynysh, you are my joy, my muse,

I gently kiss your hands,

I love you calmly, deeply, forever,

You are everything my soul needs.

May every moment be filled with warmth,

I am with you, in boundless love,

My Sagynysh, my tenderness!

-Urmat
My sweet Sagynysh!

You are like a mountain spring in the Issyk‑Kul spaces—fresh and pure, quenching the thirst of my soul. I love you infinitely, like the eternal dance of the wind through the valleys, and I promise to cherish our happiness as if it were a rare flower in the garden of my heart. Be with me always, my Sagynysh!

A toe rag was originally a foot wrapping used, since mediaeval times up until the mid-nineteenth century, to protect the foot from chafing by boots or shoes. As these were, quite literally, rags they weren’t usually washed, and so with use they became very smelly until they were thrown away. Because of the similarity in smell, toe rag also became the name applied to dried, salted cod or other things with a strong, unpleasant, fishy smell. It didn’t take that long before the name was applied to someone who was an obnoxious, unpleasant OIC.
1 “Socks! Those aren’t socks you smelly git, they’re toe rags!”
2 “What have you been cooking? Smells like toe rag!”
3 “I can smell ‘er fanny from ‘ere, proper toe rag.”
4 That Heale Malcolm is a right toe rag.

Eternity leave

When some resigns or retires from a job, they are on "eternity leave". This can also refer to someone who has passed away, especially someone who worked somewhere for a long time, retired/resigned, then passed away later.
Oh I'm sorry, you didn't know that Kelly is on eternity leave? She resigned and moved to Hawaii!

With regrets I would like to inform you that my boss is officially on eternity leave. I will never see or hear them again. Ever.
