Sacrimony

A portmanteau of Sacrilege, Sanctimony and Acrimony.

n. The potential towards moral inconsistency.

Simply put, Sacrimony is the tendency of a person or group to espouse moral superiority and dictate moral authority. An exhibitor of Sacrimony asserts that their opinions and beliefs are the *sole* correct beliefs, and believes anyone who doesn't follow to the letter is less moral than them. Even when their actions, prior statements and the context of those actions paint a different picture. A sacrimonious person decides morality not by the action and context, but by who they can more easily/acceptably throw blame at and act more brazenly against, often heavily reliant on personal feelings of animosity and skewed perspective.

When this inconsistency is brought up, a sacrimonious entity will take the disruption to their perceived moral superiority like blasphemy. They are liable to turn this questioning on their perceived accuser, framing them uncharitably to preserve the moral high ground, then turn their animosity towards said "accuser" for their dissent, insisting moral superiority to gain support.

Much like a fascist is obsessed with the pageantry of power, a sacrimonious entity is obsessed with the pageantry of morality and heroism. While real morality entails consistency, impartiality and accountability, sacrimony doesn't have any of those checks. Sacrimony entails picking, choosing and justifying after the fact, with all hints of flaws to be swept aside or excused.
