ribbited
Ribbited (verb, slang, sarcastic)
To die in a manner that is unexpectedly anticlimactic, absurdly resilient, or suspiciously less final than "croaking."
A tongue-in-cheek euphemism for death implying that the subject departed with unnecessary noise, self-importance, or a last-minute flourish.
To cease functioning while somehow remaining an ongoing presence or annoyance.
Usage notes:
Unlike croaked, which suggests a straightforward demise, ribbited implies that the deceased managed to make their exit oddly theatrical, ironic, or inconveniently memorable.
