A group of Washington bitches headed by Tipper Gore. Their main kob is to keep records/C.Ds with dirty language off the shelves because they think it contributes to violence in kids and stuff.
Mrs. DiGennaro won't let her kids listen to Nirvana because she is a member of the PMRC.

Parents Music Resource Center or for other people it's the Pushy Misanthropes Railing for Censorship. A bunch of fascist bitches who don't believe in the free expression of ideas. Stickering albums wasn't enough, founder Tipper Gore and her pestering friends tried to get ALL music that offended them banned. In the 90s many musical writers started to write more offensive music because the "Parental Advisory" sticker became a badge of honor. As a result, music offensive to the PMRC sold millions of units and scored high on the charts. The problem with all this is, people began to value "controversy" over artistic merit and the quality of popular music took a nose dive.
"We have a problem in America today. It's called censorship. We are the Ramones and we believe in the free expression of ideas and we have this to say tonight: FUCK THE PMRC!" Joey Ramone August 1990

Headed and started by Tipper Gore in 1985, when she heard her then 5 year old daughter listening to Prince´s "Darling Nikki" on the Purple Rain b-side.

The "most representative and most youth endangering" musicians were invited to Congress: Dee Snider (Twisted Sister, okay, they´d been rude back then), Frank Zappa (sang explicit lyrics too) and - lo and behold - John Denver who sang "Country Roads".

The whole thing turned into hysteria as more and more desperate housewives attended the movement and even started to cencore songbooks in kindergardens.

The final decision was to mark youth endangering records with the following stickers:

A = music that promoted alcohol abuse
S = satanic lyrics
V = music that supports violence lyrically

Later on they used that comprehensive sticker "Parental Advisory - Explicit Lyrics".

PMRC or Pussy Moms Religious Cult was a group of women like Tipper Gore who feared the little boys and girls from hearing fuck and themes that expressed individuality. Until a group of Rock and Metal musicians decided to shove their feet so far up the PMRC's asses, that they diminished the PMRC's power to a sticker that is worn as a badge of honor is a piss stain for any musician that earns it.
