a cycle that spirals up, returning to a point adjacent to but not exactly at its point of origin; from Wagner's "The Ring of the Nibelung" which ends exactly as it began except that everything is different.

"History is not a series of repetitions but rather an endless series of nibelungs;" or "... another school year - or, like, another school nibelung, amirite?"

Nibelung

A cycle that spirals out but adjacent to the point of origin, but never returning.

A circle that never closes.

Loosely related to spiraling but much more controlled.

Her choice of music is so nibelung, every song sounds the same but never quite exactly.
