(to name a few) (yeah i hate hate dick clark too but whatever) no matter where a kid grows up here they can walk to a ghetto or a extremely wealthy neighborhood, thus creating a keene sense of social class division at a young age...
which can explain why the middle to lower class people from here will forever be chasing paper, and the wealthier people will forever be moving out of town.

Yes it's Ghetto, but has come up. Both rich and average class folks live there. Most hated on city in Westchester County, and often imitiated..never duplicated. Yonkers, New Rochelle,etc can complain but MV has its history. If Mt. Vernon had as much economic support and land as the other cities, it would be even better!

1) A town in the center of Ohio. Lost in farm land, and hill jacks this town offers nothing more than a 7 screen movie theater and a Super Wally World.

2) A town loved by many who listen to po-dunk country, and hated by those that listen to anything else.

often thought of as the ghettoest place in westchester, mount vernon actually contains one million dollar houses in overlapping areas neighboring country clubs in the "elite" bronxville, eastchester, and tuckahoe towns made up of very irish and italian imigrants. the other half is a scaryass place that half the city has never been to, you know, or else they'd get shot.
