Contraction of the words "media" and "idiots". Used to describe "news" reporters who continually make inaccurate reports, write stories without fact checking, run government press-releases without any follow-up questions, or provide analysis on topics they know nothing about.

The mediots completely missed this news story.

Musician unable to understand or use a MIDI interface. MIDI (Musicial Instrument Digital Interface) is a 20+ year old protocol that lets electronic musical instruments talk to each other.

I can't figure out how to use my new controller. I must be a complete midiot.
