Japanfishing

Japanfishing

Japanfishing is a colloquial and critical term used to describe the act of a non-Japanese individual deliberately attempting to appear Japanese or appropriating Japanese culture and aesthetics, often for social validation, attention, or online popularity. It is considered a subset of "Asianfishing", which broadly refers to non-Asian people altering their appearance or behavior to appear East or Southeast Asian.
"Stop japanfishing, you weren't born in Japan and it's obvious you use filters to look Japanese."
