Interplanetary Space
The vast region of space that exists between planets and other celestial bodies within a planetary system, such as our Solar System.
Although often described as a vacuum, interplanetary space is not completely empty. It contains extremely diffuse particles, dust, plasma, cosmic rays, magnetic fields, and electromagnetic radiation. Within our Solar System, much of this environment is influenced by the solar wind, a continuous stream of charged particles emitted by the Sun.
Distances across interplanetary space are commonly measured in astronomical units (AU), with one astronomical unit representing the average distance between Earth and the Sun, approximately 149.6 million kilometers (93 million miles).
Interplanetary space extends throughout a planetary system, including the regions between planetary orbits. In our Solar System, it is largely contained within the heliosphere, the enormous region of space influenced by the Sun's solar wind.
Unlike interstellar space, which exists between stars, or intergalactic space, which exists between galaxies, interplanetary space refers specifically to the environment between celestial bodies within a planetary system.

"During its journey from Earth to Mars, the spacecraft traveled through millions of kilometers of interplanetary space, encountering solar radiation, cosmic rays, and streams of charged particles originating from the Sun."
