Inferiturition

The active, unfinished process through which a possibility takes form as something real. More than potential, less than completion: the becoming already underway.

Inferiturition begins when something is no longer merely possible but is taking shape. It does not guarantee a finished outcome; the unfolding may falter, change direction, or become something unforeseen.

A philosophical coinage inspired by Latin in fieri (“in the process of becoming”) and futurition (“the state of being future”).

Its companion word, infierith, names the intimate tension of that becoming experienced or imagined from within.

Inferiturition

The state of actively becoming: when something has begun to take form but is not yet fully realized. Especially, the tension of that unfolding imagined or experienced from within—no longer merely possible, not yet complete.

Potential is what could happen. Inferiturition is the becoming already underway. It names the inner tension of arrival, without promising that arrival will be completed. A seedling splitting its shell; a thought taking shape in words; a love still unspoken but already changing the people inside it.
