In the depths 

"In the depths" is used to describe someone who is in deep trouble and who is in a bad or difficult situation to get out of. It can also be used to explain the extent to how much someone is in trouble with a certain thing or situation.
"My english grade is in the depths of hell. There is no getting out of this one."
