A MMORPG game that is constantly fighting against WOW. Though it has only been created a few years ago, thousands of people play every hour. There are 4 game extensions. The 3 current main ones are Prophecies, Nightfall, and Factions. The other one is Eye Of The North, and its for high levelled characters, seeming to be a sequel to prophecies. There are many Proffessions, which are:

Ranger
Elementist
Mesmer
Dervish
Paragon
Monk
Necromancer
Unfortunately, alot of noob's like to play guild wars, so be on the lookout whenever you create a team or whenever you start chatting.
There are also 2 main playing types which are RP and PVP. The difference in RP and PVP in Guild Wars is that RP are characters that start as lvl 1 or 2. They can explore everywhere and have to do missions and fight, also getting elite armor. PVP is for ABing or unlocking skills. You only get main armour and you can only go in PVP areas. You can't do missions or quests and this is mostly used for Allaince Battling, which is a big help to your guild.
Unlike WOW, Guild Wars is very fun to play and you can easily exit out of it anytime except when in a mission. Though, WOW and GW have their good points, none is superior to the other except in opinions.

A game which is pretty addicting but not as much as WoW. No monthly fees which rocks.

Guild Wars is a game enjoyed by people who want the aspects of a MMORPG but do not want to pay for it. Although a seemingly good idea, the concept will eventually fail because you can't pay employees forever when you have a limited cash pot.
The game is also good for noobs who want to start playing at max level.

linear game with a decent amount of bugs which was not supposed to be a MMORPG rather than a 1 person adventure. has good graphics, very bad movement control, corny storylines and boring gameplay.

guy2: well pop it in lets see
guy1: i guess you dont need a disc if theyre only asking for a key, why do they provide the disk anyway..?
guy2: what class should i pick?
guy1: lets try one of each and play it out for 4 hours
*4 hours later*
guy1: that was nice scenery and great character design
guy2: yeah, too bad it repeats itself on almost every courner and the quests cant be solo'd unless you have a bunch of defensive moves on you and last the battle out, the dungeons are ok but again very repetitive, almost like ur in a deja vu over and over again
guy1: ok lets try the pvp content since everyone brags about it
*3 hours later*
guy1: So they have random arenas for kicks that youre dependent on your team on winning, team arenas, the hero battles, the faction wars..
guy2: and faction wars is also made that some pvp levels are made for a specific faction so they have a higher chance of winning because its made in favor for them, making it unfair gameplay

guy2: *uninstalls* good riddance
