ghettofly
Is an unofficial, one word slang -- expression that is used by some law enforcement departments and/or its officers. The expression identifies the existence and use of some type of video surveillance equipment, and may refer to one or many video surveillance cameras.
Typically the video surveillance equipment is mounted in a stationary position within any area that is well known for repeated criminal/felony activity. A ghettofly (surveillance camera) is seen many times in, but not limited to, a ghetto.
The expression can also be associated with an aerial video fly over by law enforcement. See the definition for the two word entry ghetto fly.
