See also ghettofly. The two word slang for an unofficial expression that is used by some law enforcement departments and/or its officers. The expression identifies the existence and use of some type of video surveillance equipment, and may refer to one or many video surveillance cameras.

Typically the video surveillance equipment is mounted in a stationary position within any area that is well known for repeated criminal/felony activity. A ghetto fly (aka - ghettofly) or simply surveillance camera(s), is seen many times in, but not limited to, a ghetto.

The expression can also be associated with an aerial video fly over by law enforcement (i.e. - law enforcement helicopter).
From the words ghetto; loosely meaning a run down and/or high crime area, and fly; literally meaning an insect. Such as the example: A fly on the wall in the ghetto ... All Seeing!
