Gaiman of Salt

A unit of skepticism tempered with dark whimsy and mythic sensibility. To doubt something while allowing for gods, curses, and haunted signet rings to still be real. Originated as a typo for "grain of salt."

Coined during a sterling silver authenticity crisis in 2026.

I took the silversmith's claims with a Gaiman of salt, but the custom signet was real. The gray knuckle was a warning, not weakness.

abandonware

n. software that is no longer sold or supported by the original publisher / developer, often found as free downloads on the internet because it cannot be obtained elsewhere. Not legal, but often seen as morally acceptable because the company that made it is no longer selling the title, nor releasing it as freeware, therefore abandonware is "keeping the game alive", so to speak.
