Eyes Wide Shut

When a person refuses to see something in plain view because of preconceived notions of what this something should look like. This frequently happens to naïve people.
In the movie of the same name, the title refers to sexuality, specifically to female sexuality, and a refusal of the protagonist to see that women can have both sexual fantasies (besides her primary partner) and substantial sex drive.

Conservatives and Liberals talk and look at one another with their eyes wide shut.

An amalgamation of the scary ass Stanley Kubrick Movie "Eyes Wide Shut" and "Shit" to express a media, online, entertainment or social situation involving stalking or defamation that is shockingly deplorable, and very much illegal.

Most likely actions best described as Law Suit Worthy or requiring Police Intervention, threatening your livelihood job and relationship and makes you want to curl up in the fetal position.
Sometimes synonymous with the feeling of being hunted down like an animal by the media, or the mob.
