In Spanish, the word means "sports." Or so we Americans think. (We are wrong.)

It is in fact, the name of a Mexican sport. In this game, you are trying to jump the border from Mexico to America. You can do this various ways; slingshot, actually jumping, etc. If you win, congratulations! You're an illegal immigrant. However, if you loose, you are deported back to Mexico (hence the name DEPORTes.)

If you play this game, do not loose. Mexican prisons are rough.

I played a round of deportes with Gerardo, but I lost. I'm in a Mexican prison now.

Depotese refers to a dialect used on the h'east side of Ottawa, east of Bank St. Its origins can be traced back to Hat, Quebec, its development to a depot on the dark side of town and its defining moment, to a four fingered man named Jean-Luc.
