A psychological condition of being extremely upset and frustrated by failure to achieve some goal or inability to obtain some object denied to one. Usually consists of crying, shouting, stamping of feet, throwing of objects, or inappropriate use of words.
She really had a conniption because she wasn't chosen to be Beauty Queen. She threw a conniption when he refused to marry her.

Unreasonably angry, typically over a trivial incident; to be in the throes of a conniption. Similar to "in a snit" or "ticked off" but with less gravitas (than the latter, especially).

A peak of fit, or hissy fit, or temper tantrum, and/or the desire to throw a tantrum as an emotional state, of wanting to alter much of one's own outcomes, yet when such outcomes are already proven inevitable.
He was in conniptions from his lack of insight into his own outcomes regarding his children's mother with respect to his son's behavior .

A conniption fit is a spontaneous outburst of anger or frustration, usually precipitated by an act of stupidity or neglect. Wild animation, gesticulations, and flailing of limbs often accompanies said outburst, adding visual flavor to the experience.
