The axiom that says the press can't pass judgment about anything once it's "out there," regardless of whether or not what's "out there" is true.
Whether the V.P. candidate had sex with a couch or not, Cokie's Law requires the Sunday shows to treat it as fact.

Coke's Law

A theory that depicts the idea that everyone else is actively participating in a certain act, deviant or otherwise, that you are not aware of. Coke's Law is often used to specifically describe the realization that you are the only one who isn't in on something.
Dean: Mr. Pitt was fuckin' blasted today, I never saw him this tweaked out before. Dude really needs to take it easy on the blow..

Luigi: What? Mr. Pitt does coke?

Dean: Bro seriously? Everybody does coke.
