A mind numbing, negative environment that promotes conformity and shrewd New England preppy elitism. The student body is composed largely of social climbing, vapid, over-priveleged sheep. The administration is worthless. NO WORSE than Deerfield––possibly less so––but shitty nonetheless.

Choate Rosemary Hall, located in Wallingford, CT, is one of the most prestigious and well-known preparatory schools in the nation. A boarding school of around 850, Choate attracts students from all over the world, enabling there to be a diverse student body.

Choaties are known to be scholars, athletes, citizens, gentlemen/ladies, intellectual, sociable, and fun. Few parties would be complete without a good-sized contingent of Choate students.

An institution to house the mentally deficient. Overrun with children whose parents no longer want to have to put up with them. Synonymous with “hell-hole”. Even though considered a preparatory school, it is looked down upon by the more prestigious schools. Choate may be well-known around the world, but only because so many people go there, i.e. the 26% acceptance rate. Choate’s successes are not counted in their alumni or academic honors, but in the number of hot dogs consumed on average daily in the dining hall. There is a general lack of personal hygiene, both for the students, and their environment. Regardless of the socio-economic standard discipline is lacking, and the majority of alumni, well, you can’t really call them alumni, they never left the school. Choate has now gone from a 9-12 boarding school, to a care facility for the mentally ill and deficient. While this may all sound daunting, there is some silver-lining. At their last curling match, their star athlete managed to hold off the 956th ranked special Olympian, with his final toss, he managed to overcome his opponent, setting a school record for least losses in a season, making his record 1-64. He shattered the previous record by over 50 losses, which was the chess team, which went on a record-setting season in ’87, their record standing at 1-134. Choate, while not renowned for their academics or their athletics, may be the choice for your child, if you just don’t want to see him anymore.

A boarding school for kids who are ghetto but think they're preppy. Those who go to Choate are not lucky enough to have been accepted to more elite boarding schools i.e. Deerfield Academy, Hotchkiss, Andover, and Taft. Choaties think they're really cool but they're all just sellouts whose trust funds are running on empty.
That's horrible! You're stuck at Choate? It's full of ghetto posers! Too bad you didn't get into a real prep school.

The by-all-means unworthy rival of Deerfield Academy, and the home to approximately 850 oblivious, self-entitled yuppies-to-be, give or take a few special cases. When they aren't screaming their only “cheer” (undistinguishable howling) at games, they resort to screaming "safety school" at the opposing Deerfield fans. The only irony is that their acceptance rate is a full 8 points below Deerfield's, making Choate a last-resort to many Deerfield applicants. The worst part is, the same students who shower their vicinity with saliva when they shout "safety school" bite their lip and wish they went to Deerfield come college application time, as Deerfield puts up easily better matriculation numbers. So if it isn't the academics that's better at Choate, it is most likely the general decorum, right? Wrong. While Choate has no dress code, allowing them to dress like their cavemen selves as they slouch to classes, Deerfield has an upstanding coat and tie look that denotes respect and class. Finally, Choaties tend to tout their campus and its location as a Garden of Eden, bragging of its relevant place on the map (Wallingford, CT) The only real advantage this gives is that when they get suspended/expelled for their 119-year-old failure to understand basic discipline, it's not a far drive back to their hometown of New York City, where their parents will wonder why they never tutored them for the SSAT, so they could've had a shot at Deerfield Academy.
