Male. Defender of the Nation, and Lord of Wealth and Treasure (hence his inclusion in the Japanese group of Seven Lucky Gods).

Bishamon is the god of warriors (but not of war) and prayed to for victory prior to battle. He is also a god of defense against foreign invaders, a deity of healing with the power to save emperors from life-threatening illness and to expel demons of plague, to keep personal enemies at bay, and to reward followers with riches, good fortune, and even children.

bishamn you

A legendary Bishan-powered expression used when someone annoys you until your soul leaves at Bishan MRT interchange. Stronger than a normal “damn you” because the suffering comes with full Bishan energy: getting squeezed by aunties at Junction 8, missing the train because the interchange feels like a maze, or waiting 20 minutes for your friend who said “I’m reaching already” while still at home. Usually shouted dramatically with Singlish anger but still friendship inside one.
Bishamn you lah, you tell me meet at Bishan then disappear like Avengers snap sia 😭
