The act of masturbating while watching something on TV that is not masturbatory fodder.

Named after hit filmmaker Judd Apatow who confessed to Jon Stewart that he had pleasured himself while watching Stewart's interview with Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol.

Apatow Effect 

The single-handed influence Judd Apatow movies have had on getting more naked penis shots into mainstream comedies. Mostly to the detriment of society. See Walk Hard, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, etc.

Dude, I just saw Jay's schlong in that Zack and Miri movie. I didn't know Silent Bob had gotten zapped by the Apatow Effect, too.

A comedic genius responsible for such outrageous hits as The 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Superbad, Talladega Nights, Anchorman, Walk Hard, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Pineapple Express and Step Brothers. Also responsible for making people laugh insanely hard with his work.

Usually works with the same people in his movies: Seth Rogen, Will Ferrell, Jason Segel, Jonah Hill, Paul Rudd, Bill Hader, Leslie Mann (his wife), Craig Robinson and Jay Baruchel.

Judd Apatow is my idol.

Judd Apatow

A man who seems to turn everything he touches into comedic gold. His movies seem to follow the same formula; nerdy guy likes cool girl but can't get with her for whatever reason, and usually ends up getting with her by the end with the help of his likable friends. He usually casts Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, Jason Segel, Bill Hader, and Jonah Hill. 90% of the scripts are improve with a bunch of pop culture references and sex jokes. He also writes stupid (yet still funny) comedies such as Walk Hard.

40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, and Superbad are all typical Judd Apatow movies.
