Oof means if you did something wrong, or forgot something then you say oof. It is also when you dont care, or 'give one', it is just quicker and easier to say.

oof is basically a synonym for yikes or yeesh. used most commonly on chats or through text. if someone says it out loud or irl they are automatically cringy. sorry folks i don't make the rules.
