1. Most commonly used in games such as World of Warcraft, Half-Life, Halo, and Quake to mean "For The Win."

2. It is also sometimes used (when in the right context) to mean "Fuck The World." One source of this secondary usage was from a song by The Vines called "Fuck The World."

Faster Than Light Drive

Battlestar Galactica Series refers to the FTL Drive when they need to 'jump' into 'hyper-space' (they don't refer to it as 'hyper-space'. They have a countdown to the 'jump' which seems to happen for just a second and the ship then appears at the destination point.
