chiksan 

Oilfield equipment, heavy duty steel flexible "hoses" used for high pressure pumping up to 20,000psi, mainly for liquid cement. Also used during well testing to flow oil and gas from a well to a separator. Lengths of chiksan are connected by hammer unions, tightened by belting the nut lugs with a sledge hammer. Oilwell drillers and their roughnecks use chiksans daily and become very adept at connecting them together in often complex circulation manifolds complete with valves, tees, crossovers, straights, swings, swivels, 4 ways...always covererd in grease and grime but ever reliable. Chiksans have been around the oilpatch for ever and are an integral part of any decent rig's equipment.

Refers to the style of facial hair given instantaneous worldwide prominence in the wake of Whitey Ford aka Everlast from the Irish rap group House Of Pain. Pencil-thin crawl of hair alone the jawline,optionally including moustache with demerit points. Who sports the Chinstrap: Everlast,Gotti boys,50 cent,Norte Dame Fighting Irish Leprechaun,Italians,Irish,White Boys,Latinos,Blacks and so on. Better term: Chinstrap Beard.

1. Plural of "chib", scottish slang for a knife
2. The nickname of Filip "Chibs" Telford, British actor Tommy Flanagan's character on the FX show Sons of Anarchy. Has the nickname because of actual scars Flanagan received when he was involved in a mugging.

That guy sells chibs for a living, makes a good lot.
On the last episode of Sons of Anarchy, Chibs was involved in taking out a rival Mayan biker.
