Weekend Alcoholist

A person who lives a normal life on weekdays, but at the weekend gets so drunk that he/she forgets what happend to him (this whole act happens at home, lonely andwhile playing online games). The preferred beverage is usually beer.

Person 2: He is a Weekend alcoholist, so probably drinking at home

zen-alcoholic

when you like drinking alcohol per se but regard a teaspoon of whisky as the right dose to draw the pleasure of drinking. The tablespoon is then at the boundary to alcoholism. You stay within the field of Zen combining the pleasures of body and mind.

My wife and me, we are zen-alcoholics. It is our zen philosophy to enjoy whisky etc. but because alcohol with wine at lunch and at dinner is accumulating through the day, we restrict to the enjoyable minimum. This gives the pleasure of nice drinks plus the good feeling of self-mastery, it is just zen.

Dysfunctional Alcoholic

A person who is so addicted to alcohol, that they require alcohol in order to perform simple day to day tasks. This is different from a functional alcoholic, which is someone who can function without drinking and is merely an insufferable fuckwad when they haven't had a drink in a while.
