parental technology mismatch

When you ask your parents for the latest PlayStation, but instead you get older, more obscure gaming console Commodore CDTV / Philips CD-i / Casio Loopy because your parents don't want to get addicted to video games. Same as when you ask your parents for the latest smartphone, but instead you get Texas Instrument calculator that has always been the same since 1995, a Jewish flip phone, an MP3 nugget, and a digital camcorder because your parents don't want to get addicted to smartphone.

When I asked my parents for the latest PlayStation, I ended up with a Commodore CDTV instead, highlighting the classic parental technology mismatch.

Parentize

When you parentize somebody, you adopt them and raise them without them knowing that they are adopted.

I parentized my child without her knowing that her parents died and that she is adopted.

Penguin parent

This is the strict parent, who disciplines their children (or other children) publicly. Although the name may sound confusing, it’s an ironic reference to the the contrasts between how actual penguin mothers are incredibly loving and caring, versus the public disciplinarian.

This parent, in the middle of their children’s game, will charge the field, to yell at a referee, their son, or another kid. This is different from heckling, penguin parents are much more confrontational.

sensitive parent

A parent (or any person really) who is offended by absolutely everything. Like to the point where SuperMarioLogan's entire YouTube channel (It's a great channel you should check it out) was demonitized because sensitive parents thought coloring plush toys green like zombies is innapropriate and a danger to society (We need this to end!) These people naturally hate things like Jeffy or Online games because in their insane minds, these simple everyday things will lead to the ultimate destruction of the universe as we know it.
