It could be used when implying that something might happen or is likely, even though it is highly improbable or not actually possible.

Frequently associated with the response "you can't just say perchance" due to a comedic paper submitted by a student titled "Mario: The Man, the Myth, the Legend" wherein "perchance" solely comprises a sentence. The person reading the report responds by writing "you can't just say perchance."

B: You can't just say "perchance."
