ironically, it is also held on the same day as 'buy nothing day' (much better if you ask me) Buy nothing day raises awareness of the negative environmental, social, and political consequences of overconsumption.

"bruh karen went to like 16 stores yesterday and brought home three coffee makers, a tv, two suitcases and a 42 pack of spatulas"

"my mom got trampled in costco on black friday and she still came home with a broken tv that was 95% off"
