A type of music that will not last long. Because it is too hardcore for emo kids and too wussy for metalheads. Mostly just speed metal except without the good lyrecs and the singers scream like constipated women.

Rick: Man screamo sucks.
Dave: Yea I know its just too annoying.

Trendy yelling which has no value musically or intellectually. Usually patronized by so called hardcore youths who usually have to be home by 8:30 or else they won't have time to take out their phony lip ring before they go to bed.

Loser: Oh man insert random dumb band name here is so amazing! I go to like all their shows because I'm trendy!

Screamo can be a form of raising self esteem, however this is a more dangerous way of raising self esteem. Screamo can have adverse effects on ones mental health, resulting to violence and possibly killing oneself or others, trying to prove to "their world" that they are superior. It could be considered an attack in the form of audio signals, scaring others or corrupting weaker human minds. Screamo followers can be viewed as untrustworthy people by others who dislike screamo or have never heard of it before. Most people also view screamo followers to be people who like being tortured, or torture themselves, and are possibly suicidal. Screamo song structures are generally weak and unexciting, but boast a loud voice, which is why people consider followers to have low self-esteem. By comparison musicians who have a darker side and like to play in rock bands generally aspire to become the next legendary death metal or black metal band. What these genre's have produced are some musicians which have created powerful and impressive song structures and music, leaving the impression of extremely high self-esteem.

Screamo may not have a large following, but it's effects can cause anguish to listeners.

Very hard, raw, and emotional version of hardcore punk or post hardcore. These musicians actually have passion for thier profession and usually speak the truth. True poets of today. not fake, unlike rap, pop, or new wave (i.e. good charlotte). Screamo is usually fast with quick melodies and fierce banshee like shrills.

I went to a screamo show that featured glassjaw and it scared all the wiggers and guidos away.

Think the bands Silverstein (When Broken Is Easily Fixed), It Dies Today (The Catiff Choir), From First To Last (Aesthetic), From Autumn To Ashes ( Holding A Wolf By The Ears), THESE are Screamo, NOT My Chemical Romance, NOT Finch, NOT all old music from the 90'S!!!
