Perhaps "canvasing the neighborhood" could also be effectively accomplished by putting up framed paintings on outside walls everywhere and then watching for da greedy villains whom you're after to come out of hiding and start stealing said valuable art-creations to sell, and then nab them in da act.

A Mud Canvas most commonly appears in a public restroom. Sometimes a Mud Canvas is accidental but many times it’s on purpose. If you have ever been in a Public Restroom with Shit spread all over the wall you have seen a Mud Canvas. You know it’s on purpose when you see artistic elements when some dick fancies themselves as a primitive Pablo Picasso hence a Mud Canvas.

Man the poor janitor had to go in the restroom to clean it up because some dick left a Mud Canvas .
