Pre-Abandoned

1. A building or military installation that is never intended to be used, but which must be constructed anyway for political reasons.

2. A public space that planners know will never be occupied or properly used. It gets built anyway to satisfy a planning commission or zoning board.

3. The act of constructing something useless and pointless because it is demanded by an overall "plan."

Abattoir Blues

From the song by Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, used to describe the depressed feeling you get about the modern world in general. An abattoir is a slaughterhouse, so the term, in a more in depth way, means you feel the world is lining itself up for slaughter, much like cows do at a slaughterhouse.

Man 1: Hey, are you all right? You've seemed kinda depressed lately.
Man 2: Oh, it's okay, I've just got a case of abattoir blues.

abandonware

n. software that is no longer sold or supported by the original publisher / developer, often found as free downloads on the internet because it cannot be obtained elsewhere. Not legal, but often seen as morally acceptable because the company that made it is no longer selling the title, nor releasing it as freeware, therefore abandonware is "keeping the game alive", so to speak.

Doom II is not abandonware because id still sells it, while The Incredible Machine is not sold, therefore is abandonware.
