1. To die by some means and be counted in a statistic grouping
2. To commit suicide and be counted in said group

1. "Deaths by D.U.I." "Deaths from overdose" "Deaths from cancer" "Deaths from heart attacks" "Deaths from choking"
2. "New Mexico has the 2nd highest teen suicide rate in the U.S."

Example: Too many teens commit suicide and end up dead because they chose to become a statistic.
