The Maze

Traffic-reporter slang adopted by commuters.

Generically, any complicated freeway interchange, though sometimes locals have more colorful names, like Las Vegas' "Spaghetti Bowl".

In the San Francisco Bay Area, "The Maze" refers to either the 580-980-24 interchange in Oakland, or the collection of the 580-980-24 interchange, the 880-980 interchange, and the 80-580 interchange leading to the Bay Bridge.

Noun. Part of a conversation wherein the excessive use of pronouns (he, she, they, it, this, what) makes listeners lost. Also called extreme "high context" speech.

- "Wait! He hit you? Who hit you? Jeff or Tim?" "No, it was Sam. Sorry for the pronoun maze. I hate it when others do that to me, too."
- "You ran into 'him'?" "No. Into 'her'. 'He' was watching." "With 'them'? I thought 'they' had left." "Yeah, 'they' left with 'him'." "With which 'him'? This is becoming a pronoun maze. Start over."

Bunnings Maze

A covid maze out the front of a Bunnings Store, usually large in size to control people waiting to enter a Bunnings Store during covid times. The maze is always marked out using tall orange traffic cones and reflective white and red tape to control people in lines. You will usually find a clueless "security guard" waiting for you to show your check in QR code to.

I went to Bunnings and found a Bunnings Maze. So instead of waiting like a dickhead, I went to another store!!

A pub that frequently serves after hours, otherwise known as a lock in.

Comes from television programme the Crystal Maze where contestants could get locked in if they failed to complete tasks.
