Crack Consumerism

An addictive cultural state of mind and action that some humans fall prey to by way of media marketing, and in particular, social media influencers inundating them with messages to buy consumer goods and services, often preceded by a high before and after the purchase, and often followed by a feeling of emptiness until the next fix.

Unaware, Fred and Wilma became soul-less and addicted to the risks of crack consumerism by social media influencers suggesting to them to buy things they either did not need, nor could afford.

The proper scientific term for the annual shopping/consumption frenzy occuring annually in the weeks before the winter solstice in the northern hemisphere that has by and large replaced Christmas.

Continues the historic trend of performing rituals in adherence to the ruling ideology of the time, starting with sun worship, continuing with deistic observances, and finally arriving at today's displays of material splendor.

According to some, the transition to a post-scarcity ritual has begun, as witnessed by the sharp increase in file sharing and global video conferencing over the holidays.

My dad's so cheap! Last Consumas, he gave me a self-made pullover instead of a new computer.
