A genre of punk rock that focuses on expanding beyond the musical boundaries of hardcore punk. Post-hardcore usually has more melodic and complex arrangements than hardcore. In other words, post-hardcore is to hardcore what post-punk is to punk.
It was pioneered in the eighties by bands like Minutemen, Naked Raygun, and the Effigies. It gained mainstream popularity along with its emo subgenre in the late '90s and early '00s, with bands like Rise Against, My Chemical Romance, and At The Drive-In.
A foundational post-hardcore record is My War by Black Flag

Toughyguy hardcore also referred to has Beatdown, heavy hardcore and beatcore is a genre of hardcore punk that evolved from the new York hardcore scene. Borrowing traits from it's sister genres metalcore, hardcore, deathcore, and even few traits from groove metal, and brutal death metal. TGH lyrically always talks about mass murders, genocide, and other controversial topics make this genre beloved by both the metal and hardcore scene alike. The genres intense chubby sound is also responsible for the spawning the act of crowdkilling.
Duke: We went to see cold hard truth, and tony got fucking crowd killed in the mosh.
Nikki: it's toughguy hardcore what do you expect?

This trend is thought to have originated in a small town in Maine in late 2010. It is described as one who listens to hardcore/indie/punk/emo/rock music, and can certainly rock the pink fishnet tights with chuck taylors. One tends to wear dark make-up, black nail polish, lots of pink and black bracelets, as well as a black and pink skull wrist watch. One tends to wear dark clothing, typically band tee shirts or black hooter shirts. Those who abide by this hardcore-ish trend tend to have a wild and crazy side, as well as plenty of spontaneity, and can also be called a bad-ass. They tend to take random drunken trips to Boston at 3:00 in the morning, and choose asshole boyfriends. Their mistakes are never ending and seem to follow them wherever they go. However, hardcore-ish people tend to see life as as one big playground, and strive every day to have the time of their lives.

A genre combining the artsy sensibilities of post-punk with the general energy of hardcore punk. Vocals can vary wildly, from cleans to screams to even death growls (do keep in mind that death growls aren't really part of the original scene). Later on, many post-hardcore bands would add influences from pop punk, metalcore or even melodic death metal.
Several genres would evolve from post-hardcore over time, such as emo and it's derivatives such as screamo and emo-pop, or mathcore, which is a combination of math rock and post-hardcore. Many melodic metalcore bands also have post-hardcore sensibilities.
Also, the best genre known to man
