potato dust

(collective noun) individually small pieces of leftover chips left in the bottom of the bag, often no more than a half-inch by inch or smaller, which make up half the weight but 1/8 the space of every bag of chips, doritoes, pretzels or other snack material; forces those eating to pick up small stacks or awkwardly held bunches if you want to use the dip.
